The JJVA is a volleyball association whose
mission is to promote the sport of volleyball
through clinics, competitive team opportunities,
and to strengthen our community. We want
each athlete that plays within our organization
to develop and mature as players, to have a love
for the game, and we try to instill, in each
young lady the appreciation for good
sportsmanship as well.
The JJVA is a nucleus of players from the age of
12 and under to18 years old coached by former
volleyball players and other great
professionals. The 14 & under are coached
by Megan Wood, the 16 & under by Clair Yountas,
the 17 & under by Janice Pressley and the 18 &
under by Sherrene Benedict. There are
other coaches from area clubs that participate
in our adult association as well. These
area coaches comprise the JJVA Women’s Team
named Team Jax and they again have the
opportunity to play in the USAV Adult Nationals
in Atlanta.
Most of our coaches have played and/or coached
at Florida
Community College at Jacksonville,
Jacksonville
University, and The
University of North Florida and in many top
college programs in the nation. Our
women’s team has had many winning seasons and
has gone to many tournaments. We encourage the
girls from JJVA to also continue playing the
game we all love to play and coach. The coaches
continue playing by participating in the USAV
Adult competitions.
Many teams are sponsored by local and national
businesses to help offset their operating costs.
In order for us to attend the nationals we need
sponsorships. Please consider having your

the winning spirit. We would appreciate any
